The Devotional – Search the Scriptures – 635

Today’s Kick Start! – (CJB) Nahum 2: 11 (10) She is void, vacant; she is made bare. Hearts are melting, knees are knocking; every stomach is churning, every face is drained of color.

Fifth Cycle – Destruction – Nahum 3 14 Draw your water for the siege! Fortify your strongholds!
Go into the clay and tread the mortar! Make strong the brick kiln! 15 There the fire will devour you, The sword will cut you off; It will eat you up like a locust. Make yourself many—like the locust! Make yourself many—like the swarming locusts!16 You have multiplied your merchants more than the stars of heaven. The locust plunders and flies away. 17 Your commanders are like swarming locusts, And your generals like great grasshoppers, Which camp in the hedges on a cold day; When the sun rises they flee away, And the place where they are is not known. 18 Your shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria; Your nobles rest in the dust. Your people are scattered on the mountains, And no one gathers them. 19 Your injury has no healing; Your wound is severe. All who hear news of you Will clap their hands over you, For upon whom has not your wickedness passed continually?

JESUS CHRIST: He IS the same Yesterday, He IS the same Today, He Forever, IS God!

The intense struggle of a dying nation is more than people can bare. All nations that suffer God’s Judgment are overcome with no hope. No hope of a future, no hope of freedom or prosperity or the comforts of loved ones nearby. It is wearisome for anyone to rise up early and to go to bed late and finding only the extreme worry of having no future. Nahum’s words to this matter reveals the frantic rush to survive the onslaught of pending doom.

The nation will seek to build walls to keep the enemy at bay, but the sword of the enemy is within the camp. These enemies sabotage a nations ability to rearm, as they own the merchandise of the nation. The enemy weakens the military might and the existing generals have no direction since the nations commanders are liberal cowards. These cowards make decisions are frantic and wrong. The regulations that govern, like new dress codes with no ultimate aim or solution. Civilian officials of the country are overwhelmed so they simply give up and allow their citizens to govern their daily destiny.

Citizens that are well-meaning people arm themselves and scatter to the mountains or wilderness to defend their own, since national safety is a thing of the past. No one comforts or seeks to gather them up as the severity of the national conflict is not repairable, their will be no international help. All who see and witness a nations fall from the grace of God will be glad. In fact, a celebration of surrounding countries will be heard all across the defeated land.

Still there remains a remnant of God’s children, thousands of men, women, and children who have not bowed the knee to the false gods of immorality, idolatry, and religion. Thus it becomes mandatory for these folks to take a stand for Our Almighty God. We must continue and maintain the gospel! Jude 1 20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22 And on some have compassion, making a distinction; 23 but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.

 

This concludes my comments regarding Nineveh and Assyria and our nation.

A Devotional – SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES (17)  COMMENT: Looking a little deeper! The cause of the flood that covered the entire surface of the earth, resulted; apart from the families of Adam and Seth. The families of unrighteous Cain also was multiplying. Cain went out (away) from the LORD; See Genesis 4:16-26. I want to note that the man Lamech in Cain’s family, is not the Lamech who begot Noah of Methuselah’s family who is of the Adam family.
