Colossians 1 (CJB) Trusting in Christ
Whenever we pray, we always give thanks for you to God, the Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah. For we have heard of your trust in the Messiah Yeshua and of the love you have for all God’s people. Both spring from the confident hope that you will receive what is stored up for you in heaven. You heard of this earlier in the message about the truth. This Good News has made its presence felt among you, just as it is also being fruitful and multiplying throughout the world in the same way as it has among you since the day you heard and understood the grace of God as it really is. You learned it from Epaphras, our dear fellow-slave and a faithful worker for the Messiah on your behalf; and he has told us about the love which the Spirit has given you.

Jesus Christ/Messiah is the same Yesterday, Today and Forever—Hebrews 13:8
Prayer is vitally important to the children of God—Therefore, do you pray and, Do you give thanks to God the Father of our LORD Jesus the Christ? Well, yes I pray! Okay, but are you spiritually aware of this miracle. Some would debate that prayer between you and God is a miracle, but it is. It takes a miracle from God to give you the confidence you have to pray! And this is the subject this morning, to strengthen a trusting confidence in our God to pray and KNOW that He hears us.

This subject of ‘trusting God’ is covered very well in the Epistle of James and it is my hope to study this epistle in the days ahead, but first we can lay a pathway to his epistle through some of the other inspired epistles by the apostles John, Peter, Paul and the unknown writer if Hebrews along the way. Having initial faith in God, if the FIRST step of pleasing God

“But without faith it, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God, must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. ”NKJV.

And without trusting, it is impossible to be well-pleasing to God, because whoever approaches him must trust that he does exist and that he becomes a Rewarder to those who seek him out. CJB

There are several reasons for me personally to enjoy the Complete Jewish Bible and the subject of faith is just one, but it is no doubt the major one, I am not a biblical scholar, but what I know and understand about God is from my relationship with Him. Academics has it’s place, but academics cannot get any closer to God than to come alongside, like mooring a ship to a pier. The ship cannot be the pier, nor can the pier be the ship both are inclusive. In other words, both may be needed to serve one another, but that is as far as it goes.

For me personally, from the Complete Jewish Bible I learn that the action of FAITH is to TRUST God from the faith platform that Jesus talked to the apostle Peter , see Matthew 16:10-18. More tomorrow.
