1 John 5:1-4 CSB 1Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of him. 2 This is how we know that we love God’s children: when we love God and obey his commands. 3 For this is what love for God is: to keep his commands. And his commands are not a burden, 4 because everyone who has been born of God conquers the world. This is the victory that has conquered the world: our faith.

The Christ/Messiah – Is The LORD – Call to Repentance

We will be looking to the chapter of 1 John 5 for a while longer as there is much more to see, apply and be obedient too. God’s initial ministry to all of us is LOVE, (john 3:16) His daily ministry to us is LOVE, His future ministry is LOVE. (1 John 5:3) In words of and from God, we are surrounded by God’s LOVE all day long. How do we know this, how do we comprehend the LOVE of God? by the victory that overcomes the world, our faith. (1 John 5:4).

The darkness of SIN is death, (think about this)! If all we have to look forward to when we die is death. Does that not look like darkness? What future is there when there is no hope in dying? If all we have is ‘our flesh and our blood to offer to God in eternity, would we not be men and women most miserable? 1 Corinthians 15:50 (NKJV) – Now this I say brethren, flesh, and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. I like the way the CJB reads when discussing eternity; 50 Let me say this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot share in the Kingdom of God, nor can something that decays share in what does not decay.

Everyone, that is to say, EVERYONE who personally believes that Jesus—is the Christ/Messiah is born of God. This is the second birth. It is the birth that Jesus spoke to Nicodemus about, there is nothing eerie or spooky about being ‘born again’. That which is natural will remain natural, it is limited and temporal and yes that which is spiritual is spiritual, which is not limited or temporal, it is eternal. God is Love. 1 John 4:14-16 (CSB) 14 And we have seen and we testify that the Father has sent his Son as the world’s Savior. 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God—God remains in him and he in God. 16 And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.
