Luke 17:30-37 “In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise, the one who is in the field, let him not turn back “Remember Lot’s wife. “Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. “I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left. “Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left. “Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left.” And they answered and said to Him, “Where, Lord?” So, He said to them, “Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.”

Jesus, the Christ of God/Messiah
Jesus is not discussing the rapture of the church age believers. It is easy for some to be misguided since we live in the church dispensation of God’s timing in history for the inclusion of the Gentiles. Jesus and his disciples, along with those who are listening to Him are in the Jewish (Old Testament) dispensation. Jesus is speaking about the end of the Millennial (1,000 years) reign of Christ. This 1,000-year period will be similar to the Old Testament dispensation. There will be worship in the temple in Jerusalem, animal sacrifice, King David will be king over Jerusalem and the Messiah will be the Ruling Authority over the entire world.

There is a lot of scripture regarding the millennium, Isa 65:17-25 is just one small section, note: Isa 65:20 “No more shall an infant from there live but a few days, nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days; For the child shall die one hundred years old, But the sinner being one hundred years old shall be accursed. This verse helps to pinpoint the message of Jesus to His listeners. At the end of the millennium, God’s Righteous Judgment will be upon the entire earth and the apostle Peter, explains:

2 Peter 3:10 - 13 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which Righteousness dwells.

The eagles in Luke’s gospel are a direct reference to the end of the millennial reign of Christ and not the rapture of the church age saints. See 1 Corinthians 15:50-58.
