A Devotional – SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES (36) 

COMMENT: As a typical day goes by; people are concerned about their financial needs, work, children, wife or husband (if they have a family), also other activities. These activities can be, soccer or ball practices for the children and evening entertainment for the adults. What I am driving at is that it is all to easy to fill our day with the ‘way of life’ that is normal for our little spot on this earth. Where or when do we allow or invite The Creator God a spot in our day? If we are children of God; that is (born into His family through the Blood of Christ’s sacrifice for our soul, see 1st Peter 1:13-21), and if it is a church day or night, it at this time we find a spot to invite The Creator into our day. This is roughly three to five hours a week.  This is (5 HOURS OUT OF 168), consider the void in our soul if this is the case.

SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES: Prayer
Many folks DO NOT PRAY, even God’s children! There is simply no time in the day’s events to pray. This is a major failure in our culture and the results are very evident. Our unrighteous behavior develops into foolishness and this foolishness spreads into our growing families and into our neighborhoods, communities, states and country. What might this foolishness look like?

Romans 1:29-32 – being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

Am I not writing to the choir? Do we not know the importance of communicating with God? Have we not heard, or seen with our eyes? God says we have – Isaiah 64:4 – For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides You, who acts for the one who waits for Him. Waiting on the LORD is praying to Him, to allow (time in your day) for Him to reveal His glorious victory, rather than allowing the world and the devil to destroy.

A Devotional – SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES (17)  COMMENT: Looking a little deeper! The cause of the flood that covered the entire surface of the earth, resulted; apart from the families of Adam and Seth. The families of unrighteous Cain also was multiplying. Cain went out (away) from the LORD; See Genesis 4:16-26. I want to note that the man Lamech in Cain’s family, is not the Lamech who begot Noah of Methuselah’s family who is of the Adam family. If you visit the Ark Encounter in Kentucky you will see that Adah, one of Lamech’s wives’ interviews Noah about the building of the Ark, quite clever, I believe. The wives of the believing clan of Adam, except for Eve are not known, or named.
