The Devotional – Search the Scriptures – 581

Today’s Kick Start! (NKJV) Psalm 115 O Israel, trust in the Lord; He is their help and their shield. 10 O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord; He is their help and their shield. 11 You who fear the Lord, trust in the Lord; He is their help and their shield.

Psalm 115:3-8 – God is Trustworthy

12 The Lord has been mindful of us; He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron. 13 He will bless those who fear the Lord, Both small and great.

JESUS CHRIST: He IS the same Yesterday, He IS the same Today, He Forever, IS God!

The psalmist pleads with Israel and the house of Aaron to trust in the LORD, Messiah is the ONLY source of help for the nation and the only help for Israel’s godly leaders. It is as if all hope for the nation is lost to idolatry. At this time in Israel; the nation is deeply involved in pagan worship and it does seem that God has abandon His land, people, and nation.

Still God reveals a promise when the psalmist says that Messiah is mindful of His people; He will bless the nation. He will bless the godly leaders and He will bless all those who FEAR the Messiah. God is a promise or covenant keeper, God never fails. God has reserved a remnant of men and women in Israel and around the world who do not bend the knee to pagan worship. And just so—God is preserving a remnant of Gentile and Jewish men and women around the world presently, who do NOT bend the knee to idolatry.

The apostle Paul—God’s emissary to the Gentiles ask his readers in Romans 11:1 – Has God cast away His people? Not waiting for your answer or mine, he says ‘Certainly Not!’ Under the inspiration of God the Holy Spirit, Paul forcefully and clearly states; NO! it is not possible. He references the fear of Elijah in 1st Kings 19:11-18, when Elijah hides for fear of his life as he believes he is the only Israelite leader left on the planet who has a zeal for God.

God always keeps a remnant of His Children and leadership; even after the translation of the saints (commonly referred to today as the ‘rapture’) when the tribulation begins. God will again save a remnant of people, both Jews and Gentiles who will reject the anti-Christ and refuse to take the ‘mark of the beast’ Revelation 13:17and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. You and I will not be a part of this remnant as we are with Christ. ‘The Bride of Christ’—will not be present, we will be with the Groom—Messiah. Praise the LORD!

If you are ‘saved by grace’ live as God has intended you to live—by Grace and not by works or religious idolatry or by irreligious idolatry. Live your life in the Spirit, understanding what the LORD’s will for your life is, just as He has already shown us. To be ‘just’ with others, to live in ‘loving kindness with others’ and to walk ‘humbly with God’ the task is simple—‘walk in the Spirit and you will not carry out the deeds of the flesh. Galatians 5:16-26.
