Meditating in the Psalms

The Way of the Righteous
1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

The End of the Ungodly
The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psalms – Meditation in The Wisdom and knowledge of God
When I became saved by the grace of God through the Blood of Christ, I thought it would be a noble thing to memorize all of the Psalms, I am still working on Psalm 2! Memorization, just for the sake of doing that is not one’s best effort of abiding in Christ, and I do not believe that God intended for us to memorize volumes of scripture. Now I know that in order to become a Pharisee a young man had to memorize the first five books of the Bible which the Jews have labeled the Torah. Yet, was this the Will of God or the will of man’s religion. The book of Malachi reveals the results of rabbinical rote memorization. All of the Word of God is to be studied, to be meditated on and to love – as it is the written Word of God; God’s history of unfailing Love for mankind.

For many of us, LOVE is a difficult word, especially if we have been abused in some way with the false pretense of human nature love. Abused people are the majority, not the minority as we might like to think. We do not have to remain ignorant However of God’s Love for us, it is revealed fully in the Messiah/Jesus. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. So, it is the Book of Psalms that will help us to wash our difficult doubts and fears away.

Blessed are people who do not walk in the counsels of our human nature. What does ‘human nature’ look like? It looks like UNGODLINESS, SINFULNESS, and SCORNFULNESS. The path of the natural mind is ungodly it where people stand in sin and others sit around scorning the good and evil of life’s unending woes. Matthew 7:13 [ The Narrow Way ] “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.

The ungodly will not be blessed, their soul has nothing stable to withstand the day of judgment. The breath of our Loving God will drive them away. In the day of judgment, they will ALL fall, the ungodly, the sinner and the scorner will not be found in the heavenly congregation of the righteous ones who abide in Christ the Sinless One. All of the Psalms provide ample opportunity for the child of God to meditate on the Divine Love of God.
