The Devotional – Search the Scriptures – 535

Today’s Kick -Start! Psalm 119  149 Hear my voice according to Your lovingkindness;
O Lord, revive me according to Your justice. 150 They draw near who follow after wickedness;
They are far from Your law. 151 You are near, O Lord, And all Your commandments are truth.
152 Concerning Your testimonies, I have known of old that You have founded them forever.

1 John 3:10-15 (NKJV) Righteousness is Thee Expression of Love

10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. 11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, 12 not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous.13 Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death. 15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

JESUS CHRIST: He IS the same Yesterday, He IS the same Today, for Forever, IS God!

What goes on in our inner person? Does not our real character express what is going on inside our heart. Righteousness is not something we put on and take off like our Sunday best. Right living is the way of life for the children of God, just as unrighteous living is the way of the devil and his  children. The life of the child of God is not a double minded life for us—only one.

Righteous living cannot be observed in a child of the devil because in that child righteousness does not exist. Righteousness equals the love of God. His love controls the world and if you know the love of God as God has purposed you will express through your live ‘Right Living’. I sense that it is difficult for us to understand this, only because it is an ongoing struggle for most of God’s children to mature in Christ.

In our inner struggles with living life, we often find ourselves with a bitter mind and a bitter outlook at the world around us. In other words, it is not a difficult task to get ticked off at people or the circumstances that people live in. So, from the righteous side of our mouth, we bless and promote good will, but with the unrighteous side, we maim and murder the good name of our brothers and sisters and what we heard from the beginning ‘to love one another’ turns into sinful acts of behavior, if not observable to others, this is fully observed by God.

The world hates the children of God and as the apostle points out, we fully understand that we have passed from death to life, for only one reason and that reason is because we have love one another. More on Monday if God permits!
