The Devotional – Search the Scriptures – 475

Today’s Kick Start!  Psalm 119:133 (NKJV) direct my steps by Your word, And let no iniquity have dominion over me.

Ephesians 2:19-22 (CSB) Citizens of God’s dwelling Place

19 So, then, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with the saints, and members of God’s household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building, being put together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. 22 In him you are also being built together for God’s dwelling in the Spirit.

God, does not change; He is the same yesterday, today, and forever—The Messiah!

Mixing current events with scripture does not correct the current event, but it can confuse our walk in Scripture with the LORD. Matthew 8:21-23 (NKJV) 21 Then another of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” 22 But Jesus said to him, “Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead.” 23 Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. It is best then for us to remain in the boat with Jesus as the world around us will take care of itself.

Our citizenship is in heaven, not because of our ability to be religious, or because of a religion. Our citizenship with God is in Christ, we are members of the household of God and this being a ‘real time’ decision of TRUSTING the Word of God. This faith is the same trust that Enoch the seventh descendant from Adam displayed, and the same faith that Abraham lived. Learning obedience, even the LORD Jesus exercised this same trust—who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, Hebrews 5:7-9

Being obedient to FAITH in God is TRUSTING God to build His Holy Temple, a foundation that is not built with the human hands of failure, but on the trust of those witnesses who have gone before us. The prophets, the apostles and Jesus Christ Himself who is the Chief Cornerstone. Hebrews 12:2 – looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

So then, we are not strangers or foreigners, we are fellow children of the household of God. Matthew 28 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
