James 1:19-20 (CJB) The Devotional – Search the Scriptures – 453
19 Therefore, my dear brothers, let every person be quick to listen but slow to speak, slow to get angry; 20 for a person’s anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness!

A thought regarding Today’s Message Psalm 121:7-8

Jesus Christ/Messiah is the same Yesterday, Today and Forever—Hebrews 13:8
If you are alive—you are engaged with life. The apostle James uses anger to express our emotional reactions as we relate to the circumstances of contact with others during the day. Anger is at the top of the list when it comes to expressing our emotions. Human anger is NOT righteous indignation. Note Ephesians 4:26 – Be angry and do not sin. Do not let the sun go down on your anger.

An outburst of anger or a deafening silence of anger reveals the inner emotional thoughts of the heart/soul of a person. Not only do these revolting thoughts destroy the people facing anger it also destroys the angry person. The harm that comes from an angry person is; hatred, contention, jealousy, wrath, selfishness, murder, drunkenness, and lost relationships. Emotional outbursts in a person lead to unhealthy consequences such as; heart disease, kidney failure, liver, and skin disorders. The solution to all human anger is for those of us who are emotionally bent to react in the flesh rather than in the Spirit is to rely on God’s provision, which is; His RIGHTEOUSNESS working through you. The Lord will protect you from all harm; he will protect your life. The Lord will protect your coming and going both now and forever.

Last night after a period of unrest, I fell asleep and had this dream. I was in heaven and had various things to do; in every event which was far too many to count or classify I found myself having to make a decision of ‘right versus wrong’, the dream was not unpleasant at all, in other words, my desire was to be there and respond to the events. The events placed the negative response before the correct one and ALWAYS the negative reaction was appealing and attracted my immediate attention.

Before I could make the ‘bad’ choice the correct response was offered to me. Honestly, responding to ‘Righteousness’ was soothing comfort, so much so, that I began to look for the trial or temptation just so I could realize how great our God is. In eternity it will be impossible for a child of God to sin, not because of the foolishness of dreams, but because God will our total comfort. His soothing presence then can be our soothing presence NOW, that is if we abide in His Righteousness.
