The unrest of the World, or the peace of the Messiah
33 “I have said these things to you so that, united with me, you may have shalom (peace). In the world, you have tsuris(distress). But be brave! I have conquered the world!”

Christ/Messiah is Our Only Hope

How good are we with illustrations? In the secular world around us—figures of speech and illustrations are a vital way of life. Our schools and daily advertisements are full of these aids of  understanding. Sit in on any lecture, watch any motivational speaker on a specific subject, a commercial and you have experienced illustrations and figures of speech. There are so many, that you only need to listen to a few figures of speech on the same illustration that distress rises up its ugly head.

In Christ we will have PEACE,

It is the illustrations and figures of speech revealed “In Christ” or “in the world” in any daily activity that directs our peaceful or distressful day.

Illustration #1 – God has provided for us to have the ‘mind of Christ’ 1 Corinthians 2:16. A figure of speech – Spiritually instruct yourself to use it.

Illustration #2 – John 15:4Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. A figure of speech. Spiritually instruct yourself to Abide in Christ.

Illustration #3 – 1 John 2:15 – 15 Do NOT love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in them. Spiritually instruct yourself to study the Bible. 2 Timothy 2:15.

In the world we will have DISTRESS,

Illustration #1 – 1 John 2:16a – The lust of the flesh
Illustration #2 – 1 John 2 16b – The lust of the eyes
Illustration #3 – 1 John 2 16c – The pride of life.

Spiritually continue to remind yourself that the ‘tug’ of worldliness is in real-time; our flesh, our eyes, and our human desire is to fill with our human consumption of this appetite just as the rest of the world around us does, but be on call (on alert) WE ALWAYS HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST—USE IT!
