CJB – Joel 2: 12 “Yet even now,” says Adonai, “turn to me with all your heart, with fasting, weeping and lamenting.” 13 Tear your heart, not your garments; and turn to Adonai your God. For he is merciful and compassionate, slow to anger, rich in grace, and willing to change his mind about disaster. 14 Who knows? He may turn, change his mind and leave a blessing behind him, [enough for] grain offerings and drink offerings to present to Adonai your God. 15 “Blow the shofar in Tziyon (Zion)! Proclaim a holy fast, call for a solemn assembly.” 16 Gather the people; consecrate the congregation; assemble the leaders; gather the children, even infants sucking at the breast; let the bridegroom leave his room and the bride the bridal chamber. 17 Let the cohanim, who serve Adonai, stand weeping between the vestibule and the altar. Let them say, “Spare your people, Adonai! Don’t expose your heritage to mockery, or make them a byword among the Goyim. Why should the peoples say, ‘Where is their God?’”

Biblical Evidence that demands decision – Joel 2
We are very quick and ready to affirm that God does not change; like Hebrews 13:8 – Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. But we are very slow to allow what we affirm into our daily life. Hear me on this! I am not saying that we do not believe the Holy Word of God, but in real-time, we do not walk in the power of what we KNOW BY FAITH! I am not scolding anyone unless I include myself AND I do include myself, thus this is a SCOLDING. I know the scripture and can quote it with the best of us, but SHAME of us if we are not TRUSTING God in our walk with Him.
There really is nothing new under the sun and yet again we can be very quick to deny it with human viewpoint. We willingly set aside that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever by saying, we are living in the church age and God deals with us differently than He did with the Jews of the Old Testament. This is only true to a point. God is all about the salvation of His created people, the Israelites failed to evangelize the world and now it is the church! How are we, the church, doing?
I am not talking about religion. God, who created us in His Image did so out of love. When a father and mother give birth to a child, they do so in their image out of love. Now if you have not thought about this before, think now! Does the child belong to the neighbor? NO! The child belongs to the image and likeness of his or her parents. Do you in earnest prayer ever refer to God as your Father? I would say that you said yes to that question and if so you are affirming that you are reborn in God’s Image, thus you belong to God, not the world around you.
If our national church looks like the world, it can only reproduce the world. Speaking to the church in Rome, the apostle Paul says Romans 12:1-2, So, brothers and sisters, because of God’s mercies, I encourage you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice that is holy and pleasing to God. This is your appropriate priestly service. Do not be conformed to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you can figure out what God’s will is—what is good and pleasing and mature. There is more to say… maybe tomorrow.
