A Bible snippet—and more
Philippians 4:8-9 (CJB)
In conclusion, brothers, focus your thoughts on what is true, noble, righteous, pure, lovable or admirable, on some virtue or on something praiseworthy. Keep doing what you have learned and received from me, what you have heard and seen me doing; then the God who gives shalom will be with you.

The Christ/Messiah – Is The LORD Call to Repentance

As the Apostle Paul begins to conclude his epistle to the Philippians, he reminds the church to focus on the joy of being in Christ. Also, we must remember that the ‘church’ is not a building, but a people group who are in UNION with Christ. Earlier in this chapter, Paul challenges his fellow female workers to be of the same mind. He seeks help from the ‘pastor/teacher’ Clement—and to be mindful that the plea to assist these women is serious. Paul enlists the whole body of believers in Philippi, whose names are written in the Lambs book of life. Why? Because the “joy of the Lord in the souls of these saints are in jeopardy, the matter is serious as it only takes a small issue to destroy church fellowship.

We are not to be ignorant or turn a blind eye to disturbances in the church as some may, the Lord is nearby and He is looking to His church to lovingly forebear and to be gracious, IN all THINGS. Paul gives word on how to be forbearing and gracious. To worry about issues of any sort is SIN, to pray with thanksgiving is the way to let God our Father know that we are on the same page with God to resolve all matters, in Christ. We are to seek the ‘peace of God’ and as we do we will understand that God is guarding our hearts and minds.

Finally, Paul gives his readers a perfect recipe to remain in the joy of the LORD; notice again: Philippians 4:In conclusion, brothers, focus your thoughts on what is true, noble, righteous, pure, lovable, or admirable, on some virtue or on something praiseworthy. Keep doing what you have learned and received from me, what you have heard and seen me doing; then the God who gives shalom will be with you.
