Colossians 1 New King James Version (NKJV)

The Christ/Messiah – Meditation in The Wisdom and knowledge of God

The opening and closing comments of the apostle Paul in all of his epistles employ Spiritual Truth that is often overlooked. Here in Philippians and Colossians, for example, we see that the apostle and Timothy are ministering to ‘all of the saints’ at both churches. If you look at the other epistles of Paul you would see the same spiritual concerns of Paul and other ministers who ministered with the apostle throughout the life of Paul’s ministry and calling. Regarding the Greetings.

Those other people with the apostle are to the Romans, no one. To 1 Corinthians: Sosthenes. To 2 Corinthians: Timothy. Galatians: all the brethren with Paul. Ephesians: none. To Philippi: Timothy. To Colossi: Timothy. 1 and 2 Thessalonians: Silvanus and Timothy. The 1 and 2 Timothy epistles are written letters of personal exhortation to Timothy, to guard the faith and preach to the truth of the gospel. To Titus, a personal letter to establish church leadership and those who are qualified. To Philemon: And lastly a personal letter of both Paul and Timothy.

Regarding closing benedictions, the exhortations, and closing remarks, we see the common faith of all who are with the apostle standing firm in Truth and Faith. If you study this you will see that the men and women of the whole church of God in Christ provide greetings and farewell. The question is: Do we in our churches today provide this same fervent concerns for all churches In Christ today, or do we esteem our church better than those around us? Careful how you answer! See Philippians 2:1-4. In this, I do not include congregations of cults or other religious organizations who use the Name of Jesus, or the Christ and reject His deity as Creator, Sustainer and Savior of all mankind.
