Philippians 4 New King James Version (NKJV)

Be United, Joyful, and in Prayer

I implore Euodia and I implore Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. 3 [a]And I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life. Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

The Christ/Messiah – Meditation in The Wisdom and knowledge of God

Philippians 4:1 was included yesterday since it should be in chapter 3.
I fully believe that there is no greater joy on earth when the children
of God are rejoicing in the LORD, when the church is ‘gentle’ and not wrangling over things that do not pertain to ‘life and godliness’, laboring in the gospel is crucial, it is God’s Will for all of us. Yet we go through dry periods when emotions place us inward and on different pages. Our joy and rejoicing turns to a bitterness behavior. We worry and quarrel which does not have to start with the women in the church. Men as well as women encourage one another to argue and dispute matters within the church. Did you get that? We encourage one another to quarrel and argue over doctrinal issues.

The apostle James warns that this sort of murmuring and backbiting is not heavenly wisdom, but demonic and we need to be conscious of this, James 3:13-15. So, this wisdom is attained in churches whose priorities are other than the gospel. These actually turn into mindless examples of any social club of like-minded complainers, there is no joy in their fellowship circles except the selfish joy of demeaning one another. You may say that this does not go on in churches today, but when churches lay aside the Word of God for ‘thoughts of selfish ambitions’ the gentleness is for a select few and they forget that the LORD is at Hand (nearby).

We cannot be anxious for things that motivate a few, the result is sin. We must not be anxious at all, if we worry over anything, prayer fades away, God is set aside and we do not ask or thank Him for anything. Prayer and meditation provide peace from God who gives freely and this peace always exceeds our ability to understand. When we see or realize that this is all of God who favors us, we also see and realize that God will always guard our heart when we keep sight on God’s Will—which is the Gospel of God in Christ and study of God in The Word to show that we are approved of God.
