John 1:24-28 New King James Version (NKJV)
A Voice in the Wilderness (continued)
24 Now those who were sent were from the Pharisees. 25 And they asked him, saying, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?” 26 John answered them, saying, “I baptize with water, but there stands One among you whom you do not know. 27 It is He who, coming after me, is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose.” 28 These things were done in Bethabara beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

Isaiah 40:3 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
24 Some of those who had been sent were P’rushim. 25 They asked him, “If you are neither the Messiah nor Eliyahu nor ‘the prophet,’ then why are you immersing people?” 26 To them Yochanan replied, “I am immersing people in water, but among you is standing someone whom you don’t know. 27 He is the one coming after me — I’m not good enough even to untie his sandal!” 28 All this took place in Beit-Anyah, east of the Yarden, where Yochanan was immersing.

There is so much written confusion about the Baptismal site where John baptized, that it is not worth the time to search out the matter. And who knows if one takes the time that he or she would be correct. The fact for me and for you as well is; that BY FAITH, we understand that this event took place. John’s baptism was with water from the Jordan River. Many people came to be baptized and standing, awaiting His turn, was The Messiah/Christ. John understood that while he was able to remove the sandals of the people approaching him for immersion that when it came to be Jesus’ turn, John would not be worthy—humanly to do so. Worthy is the Lamb: John 1:29 and Matthew 3:15.

Jesus Christ fulfilled all of the righteous requirements of the Mosaic Law, The spotless Lamb of God, prepared before time began, before Creation was. The reasonable thought in any human heart is impossible to comprehend. God is Incomprehensible. Job writes “As for the Almighty, we cannot find Him; He is excellent in power, in judgment and abundant in justice (Job37:23). Yet, Jesus became a Man, He waited His turn in line.

Even wisdom rejoiced to see Adonai (Proverbs 8:30) Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman, and I was daily His delight, Rejoicing always before Him, Rejoicing in His inhabited world, and my delight was with the sons of men. Are you not rejoicing in the Truth that you a sheep of His pasture? God in His wisdom has given you the right to rejoice too. John 1:12 and 13.
