The King Honors Mordecai
11 So Haman took the robe and the horse arrayed Mordecai and led him on horseback through the city square, and proclaimed before him, “Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor!” 12 Afterward, Mordecai went back to the king’s gate. But Haman hurried to his house, mourning and with his head covered. 13 When Haman told his wife Zeresh and all his friends everything that had happened to him, his wise men and his wife Zeresh said to him, “If Mordecai, before whom you have begun to fall, is of Jewish descent, you will not prevail against him but will surely fall before him.” 14 While they were still talking with him, the king’s eunuchs came, and hastened to bring Haman to the banquet which Esther had prepared.
Esther – Meditation in The Wisdom and knowledge of God
The operational hub of the Persian Empire in those days was the Citadel in Shushan. King Ahasuerus rules a kingdom of one hundred twenty-seven provinces, of those; the king has seven chosen men who knew and understood the times. Men who were closest to him. Carshena, Shethar, Amathan, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan. Princes of the Meads and Persians, you can find the mention of these men in the first chapter of Esther. The reason I bring this up is that this kingdom was abiding in law and order. There were conservative and liberal thinkers, but not an elected democracy by voters. These men were appointed; or selected by the king.
Haman was not one of these men, but he was influential, he was as we read in Esther 6:13 – When Haman told his wife Zeresh and all his friends everything that had happened to him, his WISE men and his wife Zeresh said to him, “If Mordecai, before whom you have become to fall, is of Jewish decent, you will not prevail against him, but will surely fall before him.” People who seek to overthrow a government as Haman, have a strong agenda and a following of people who know how to do harm, but those same people also know how to abandon ship, like RATS when the ship begins to sink. “you will not prevail” notice the singleness of that statement, the wise men, including Haman’s wife dump all of the burden on Haman, even though these people were working closely with Haman.
Humanly speaking we can say that if you give a person enough ‘rope’ they will hang themselves. This is the picture of the end of Haman’s life as well as the evil plan of men and women who seek to destroy the constitutional foundation of a nation like the United States of America. This being that godly men and women should turn from their evil-mindedness to civil-mindedness and pray. 2 Chronicles 7:14 – if My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
