Meditating in the Psalms

Psalm 2 New King James Version (NKJV)
The Messiah’s Triumph and Kingdom
2 Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, “Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure: “Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion.”“I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ ”10 Now therefore, be wise, O kings; be instructed, you judges of the earth. 11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.

Psalms – Meditation in The Wisdom and knowledge of God

Prophecies do not come from the will of man. Words of prophecy are found throughout the Holy Bible, mostly in the Old Testament. The Messiah is the only Prophet of the New Testament and all prophecies in the Old Testament point to the Messiah’s first and second coming to earth. Hebrews 1:1-3 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high… see the full context through to verse 14.

In our text of Psalm 2, we see a complete picture of God as He ministers Judgment and Justice on the nations of the earth as they become increasingly rebellious toward the Creator and His anointed Son/Messiah. Yesterday we looked primarily at the current vain attempts of the earth dwellers. As these humans gain enough earthly good and evil wisdom to wage war with God, to separate themselves from God. In the heavens God laughs at such nonsense, God’s Will cannot accommodate evil, evil is (good and evil) foolishness, it is void of glorifying God. Why? Because the earth dwellers, knowing the Righteousness requirements of God, purposely suppress this Truth; see Romans 1:18-23.
Psalm 2:7-11  “I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ ” This middle section of Psalm 2 is not a mystery to any child of God, or to those fools who claim that there is no God, see Psalm 14:1 and 53:1, if you reread Romans 1 you will clearly see that while nations reject the truth of God, and believe that by professing this nonsense they are becoming more wise, yet they are simply gaining more darkness in their foolish world of good and evil.
