Curing worldliness with Humility

James 4:10-11 – Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?

Christ/Messiah is The Wisdom and knowledge of God

This is one of the very large areas of SIN in the life of a child of God the Father. We judge with our EYES, we judge with our MOUTH, we even judge with our BODY LANGUAGE, we can even keep silent, but keenly judge with our mind and ears. However, no form or formula for judging another brother or sister in the LORD is to be considered pleasing To GOD. Scripture reveals and PROVES that there is but ONE Lawgiver and ONE judge with respect to living the Christian life. If this is the case, and it is – Romans 14:4, Who are you to judge another's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.

Part of our text this morning, albeit short. “There is One Lawgiver, who is able to save and destroy. Who then are you to judge another?” The question is rhetorical and requires a personal evaluation of the subject question. Do you judge others? If so; you are not God, are you? No! Then, who are you? A sinful person? Yes. a sinful person! Thus we fall from grace, we miss the mark that God has set for ALL His children and among the children’s local assembly you stand out like a wrinkled fig.

Interestingly James says, you are not a doer of the law or works, but less then that, you have become an unqualified doer of judging. If you speak EVIL do you have permission from God to speak evil? Do not say yes and reveal your ignorance, note this verse; Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God” for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone, (James 1:13).

Evil is the condition of the world we live in; it is not a condition of the kingdom that God has provided for us to walk in.
1John 15:4 – “abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
John 15:6 –  “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
John 15:7 – “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
James 4:3 – You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures

Should I go on? No, I do believe we get the point! Yet, one more—God resist the proud but He gives grace to the humble, James 4:6.
