Wisdom and wisdom

James 3:13-18 – Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Christ/Messiah is The Wisdom and knowledge of God
Romans11:33 – Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! 1 John 5:19 – We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.

One of the ‘key elements’ of doing or working in Christ and not in the flesh is; of what, ‘well of wisdom’ we are operating from when we seek to do or work for the LORD. God the Father is not some laid back, rich, sovereign, grape eating, fanned with palm branches—demigod. Now we KNOW this, but we do not always apply what we know and the end result of our labor for the Creator falls short of the mark. John 5:20 – “For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.” We are working by faith in GOD, through CHRIST.

The works that Jesus accomplished on earth came through His obedience to do the Will of the His and Our Father, Matthew 6:10 – Your Kingdom come, and your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. The works that God has prepared for His children to do are serious/greater works. Works to further the Will of God the Father on earth. John 14:12 – Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

The other side is that we seldom do anything for God that is filtered with or completed in the meekness and wisdom of understanding the Will of God. If you sense bitterness, envy or self-seeking ambitions in your heart, you need to stop working in this way because you are lying against the truth. Like James says, this work is demonic, sensual and earthly; it is the conduct of the way of the world.

Work done by the children of God is of the fruit of righteousness, which is always sown in peace, by the children of God who are peacemakers. The bottom line is that if you have a ‘bragimony’ about the things you are doing for the LORD, then you do not have a testimony that pleases GOD the Father.
