Christ’s = Our Only Hope

Doom of False Teachers

For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked  (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)—then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are presumptuous, self-willed. They are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries, whereas angels, who are greater in power and might, do not bring a reviling accusation against them before the Lord.

Jesus, the Christ, God’s Messiah

God does not tolerate evil; evil is a step beyond sin. Jesus died and rose again for the sin of the world; Messiah has the Victory. The details of evil are at this time in history as prevalent as it was on the day that Adam and Eve sinned and the Garden of Eden was taken away from all human life. We do not discuss or write about this subject much as we shy away from evil and seek to present the good that coincides with evil like a pair of worn out, but comfortable gloves. Trying to explain, we ought to say first that the Garden of Eden was a place of absolute Holiness to God. When God removed Eden and prevented mankind to re-enter, mankind was left with a ‘good and evil’ temporal life. On the one hand, man can do good—on the other, man can also do evil!

Evil projects a lullaby world, Solomon throughout the Book of Proverbs reveals, all too well this life of ‘good and evil’, he especially brings our human condition to light with these words! Proverbs 6: 9-11 – How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep—So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler, And your need like an armed man. Solomon brings the subject to light again in Proverbs 24:30-34. Thus, it is not God’s desire that we live just in ‘good and evil’—it is HIS WILL for us to lay aside a ‘good and evil life’ and walk in a—Holy Life.

How strong is the Will of God for us to separate from evil? Romans 8:32 – He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? “What shall we say of this? If God is for us (and He is) who is it then that is against us? Unless you do not know, his name is Satan, he was evil and sinful from the beginning and he is the author of “GOOD AND EVIL” Then came the day when The Triune GOD said, enough is enough! Jesus reveals this to His disciples in Luke 10:18 – “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven”.

Can you imagine, a universal garden of holiness and one restriction, Genesis 3:17 is the rebellion of angels and man that has plagued God’s Creation from the beginning, bringing us to this day when all around us we see Sodom and Gomorrah, we see the sinfulness that Noah witnessed in his day. And even in our self-righteousness, we witness daily the rebellion of Korah and we continue on the path of Proverbs 24:30-34. Matthew 26:40 – Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What? Could you not watch with Me one hour?” Jesus is COMING AGAIN, will you be sleeping or watching?
