Submission to Government and Employers

Submission to Husbands

Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear. Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel—rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror.

A Word to Husbands

Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.


Jesus, the Christ, God’s Messiah

The exhortation of living godly, which is of great gain, is to live with people and authorities to the glory of God. This is an impossible human challenge to our responsibility with God as His children. The only possible solution is to live out our salvation with ‘fear and trembling’ is not the fear and trembling of human works or of a fleshly effort, but one of abiding in Christ under the direction of God the Holy Spirit. To default or be derailed from abiding in Christ is to revert to our sinful flesh, Romans 8:3

One of the main ways to be derailed from abiding in Christ for a wife or husband is for ONE or the OTHER to overstep their position as a child of God. The Authority or Banner over us is the ‘love’ of God. The apostle seeks to remind women of this ‘chain of authority’. An Authority that does not originate from apostles, prophets, or priests, or for that matter; from within one’s self. This Authority comes down from the Father in whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. That is; the Light of any husband and wife relationship comes directly from God through His Word; period!

There can be much to say about any subject in the Holy Word of God. Therefore it is far better to allow God to speak to us through His Son (Hebrews 1:1-2) as it is the glory of God to conceal a matter, see Proverbs 25:2 – It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter. BE A KING TO YOUR WIFE and in this, you will glorify God and find blessing, even your prayers will be answered.
