Jesus ascends to heaven and to the Right Hand of His Father

Luke 24:50-53The Ascension
And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven. And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the temple praising and blessing God. Amen.

Jesus, the Christ, God’s Messiah
Like the children of God that we are, the apostles watched as Messiah returned to His home in heaven. He completed His mission to earth and He made many disciples including the eleven who witnessed His Ascension, including Matthias who witnessed the risen Messiah. He also gave many gifts. Gifts, not of secular value, but of greater value. He made some apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers (Ephesians 4:11). Spiritual gifts did not originate from mere men, these (all spiritual gifts) were given, even today from the Hand of Jesus the Messiah.
Like Matthias, we did not witness His ascension, but we are the ongoing witnesses that Jesus is the Messiah of God, the Risen and Ascended Messiah, we believe the scriptures John 14:1 – “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.” Our hearts are not troubled, as Jesus prayed for our day in John 17:20-21 – “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will  believe in Me through their word; “that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. To be a disciple is to believe and abide in the ‘Word of Life!’
John 1:1-5 and 1 John 1:1-4 – We have fellowship with the Living and Risen LORD, the Messiah who will one day soon, return in the skies, and remove His ‘called out believers’ the church from this earth. All believers, all over the world will witness and experience the results. We will; like as when He departed, be caught up together with HIM. Those who died before us will go before us, then we who are alive and remain will be caught up too, and so shall we be with the LORD, forever. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. The thoughts and joys related to this Truth is made full by the study of scripture. These thoughts and joys are enduring (everlasting). These are not like the temporal celebrations of churchy assemblies that promote human emotion that fade away as soon as you leave the building.
