SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:  Luke 12:35-49-53
“I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! “But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am till it is accomplished! “Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division. “For from now on five in one house will be divided: three against two, and two against three.  “Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

Jesus, the Christ of God/Messiah
Jesus begins to lament over Jerusalem, as He knew beforehand that the end of His present ministry was at hand. Isaiah says – “He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows. Like one from whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we esteemed Him not” (Isaiah 53:3). No one has ever suffered death as Jesus is about to face. In our minds, we hope to be asleep when the death of our body occurs. We also anticipate that our loved ones and friends might be around so that the bittersweet mourning of our death can begin. None of the above will be present for the LORD of heaven and earth.

There are friends and His mother, standing off at a distance, even the disciple who is His closest friend, ‘John’. The LORD’s brothers and sisters are not present, division of family is clear, even Joseph His step-father is not there. Some of the women who followed the LORD are present, but there is NOTHING BITTERSWEET regarding this moment in time. From the beginning of Friday (sunset to 9 pm). Total rejection and separation from His Father and mankind were EXPERIENCED by Jesus. His human body was subjected to every act of human cruelty known to man.

Yet, think about this, EVERYONE, including you and me, “we were present in the LORD’s MIND” on that Friday, there is no such thing as ‘limited atonement’. The Messiah died for all SINNERS! And of course; if you consider yourself as sinless - He died for you too, but be careful because you are lying and that my friend is a sin against the Holy Spirit.

So, the Messiah is looking forward when the entire earth will be set ablaze, take the moment and read 2 Peter 3:10-13. The earth will quake at the sound of His Second coming, oh what a glorious moment that will be. Jesus says, “how I WISH it were already kindled!” (Luke 12:50). Now in this dispensation, we are a divided people, right down to the family. This division is EXTREME nation against nation, fathers against sons, sons against fathers, mothers against daughters and daughters against mothers, please reread Luke 12:49-53.

The baptism that the LORD of Glory is speaking of is of course His Death and Resurrection, without His Death we would still be in our SIN, without His Resurrection from the dead we would have no hope. Jesus is the FRISTFRUITS, then those who are “In Christ” will follow Him. 1Co 15:20 But now Christ is risen from the dead and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 1Co 15:23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ's at His coming.
