The Devotional – Search the Scriptures – 155 Special #3

SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:  Various Scripture
Friday slips into Saturday, Jesus has already been taken from the cross. In death, He took His place with ‘ALL THE DEAD’ those of the past, present, present and the future. Scripture reveals that He tasted death (Hebrew 2:9) But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone. What does this mean that Jesus tasted death for everyone in order that we might not have to taste death? Shall we not all die a physical death? YES INDEED! Jesus does not want us to “die the Second Death” thus He died to live again because He trusted the Father’s Will, Jesus became obedient to the will of His Father; just as we are to be obedient to the Father’s Will too! (Philippians 2:8) And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 2Peter 3:9 – The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Jesus, the Christ of God/Messiah

You have answered Me. The agony of dying and death gives up to eternal life and victory!

Victory over sin and death is IMMEDIATE, we will be changed from a temporal physical nature to an eternal/everlasting spiritual life. Notice: As we shall be like the resurrected Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:55 – see the context (1 Corinthians 15:50-58) O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

Psalm 22:22-31 – I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will praise You. You who fear the LORD, praise Him! All you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him, And fear Him, all you offspring of Israel! He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Nor has He hidden His face from Him; But when He cried to Him, He heard. My praise shall be of You in the great assembly; I will pay My vows before those who fear Him. The poor shall eat and be satisfied; Those who seek Him will praise the LORD. Let your heart live forever! All the ends of the world Shall remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations shall worship before You. For the kingdom is the LORD’s, and He rules over the nations. All the prosperous of the earth shall eat and worship; all those who go down to the dust Shall bow before Him, even he who cannot keep himself alive. A posterity shall serve Him. It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation, they will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born, That He has done this.
