SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:  Luke 12:1-3
In the meantime, when an innumerable multitude of people had gathered together so that they trampled one another, He began to say to His disciples first of all, “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. “For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. “Therefore, whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.

SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES: Jesus, the Christ of God/Messiah
There is another parallel conversation with Jesus and His disciples, it is found in Matthew 10:27-30. I think these are two separate occasions, but I can be wrong. The context of the Matthew passage refers to His disciples and their mission to proclaim the Good News. We ought always to have a willing heart to share the message of Salvation by Grace. When we are willing to confess Christ to the multitudes, we glorify God the Father and we fulfill God’s Perfect Plan. However, when we know the Truth and fail to speak, we are like the hypocritical Pharisees or religions of our day. We ought also to understand that man’s salvation from the curse of Genesis 3:1-24 (3:14-19) is provided to whosoever believes the gospel of God. Those religions that preach a false gospel of salvation by the works of man is hypocrisy.

Moving back to Luke 12:1-3 – the Apostles and disciples are warned that religion is the leaven of Satan. Disguised as an angel of light, 2Co 11:14 – And no wonder! For Satan, himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Religion boosts of human good and works. Religion eagerly compares it’s worth with Truth and is the main cause for confusion in various evangelical camps. Religion is Satan’s best tool for deception. Satan is the father of lies, as Jesus reveals that Satan was a liar from his own resources. John 8:44“You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

Galatians 6:7 – Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. This passage of the apostle Paul speaks well of what is to be said about our subject this morning, the context, Galatians 6:6-10 explains that we are taught to reproduce in the clarity of Truth. If we seek to sow to gratify the flesh as the Jews who creped into the church at Galatia, we will reap rewards of the flesh, which is everlasting destruction. However, if we sow to the Spirit we will reap a harvest of ‘everlasting life’ and glorify God.
