SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:  Luke 9:22-27
“The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.” Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?  “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him, the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels. “But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the kingdom of God.”

SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES: Jesus, the Christ of God/Messiah
Luke 9:22 – Jesus knew His future, that He would suffer many things. His earthly future was not bright and glamorous, but He had a plan from His Father and He, through faith in His Father carried it out. He FOLLOWED His Father! Jesus knew WHERE He was going, He had FAITH, I know that the Christ/Messiah is God, He is also Jesus, flesh, and blood just like you and me, so when we talk, think and react to Jesus and discuss things about the uniqueness and His hypostatic union as the God/man, we certainly must not mix the two. Even when we discuss the gospel, Jesus is the God/man.

Luke 9:23 – “if anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.

[As I have said many times, I love the Word of God, I hope, even pray that you do too! I took a look at the news this AM for the weather. This is about all I can stand on the television but as I waited for the weather to pop up, there was a report about the number of children committing suicide here in Connecticut, (3) so far in the month of February. Now the physical and mental reasons are not important, what is important is that we continue to see the population of young people destroyed. Either by adults who are misguided by the satanic world we live in, or by the children themselves because they see NO HOPE for the future. Children have no discipline, no love, and no goals. Ask the typical child today any relevant question and the Favorite answer is “I DON’T KNOW”. Now it is not that they do not know, it is more likely that they could care, but don’t! Now there is no doubt, thousands of reasons, but to wade through these would not be fruit bearing.]

Because men and women (adults) have turned away from losing their lives to Christ, we are finding out quickly that to gain the world, which is not ours to gain, is self-destruction and loss! Suicide is just one of the results of “NO HOPE1.” Lifestyles of the young and many of the old present a posture of shame. They are ashamed of themselves and ashamed of God.
