SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:  Luke 6:46-49 – The Eternal Plan of God – Jesus
“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?  “Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: “He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. “But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”

SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES: Jesus, the Christ of God/Messiah
Yesterday we looked at the LORD’s challenge in Luke 6:46-49, but we are not finished. One wonderful attribute about the Word of God is that it is always ALIVE and alert, and God will speak to you through His Word often. Even at various times through the night we are reminded that the Word of God is never exhausted, as we are. God never disturbs our sleep, but He does bring to mind at various times through the night, various thoughts related to our daily meditation, study, and prayer. To say that this is just human coincidence is absurd, and shame on anyone who thinks so!

Years ago, if you were reading these devotionals back then, I wrote that “Grace and Faith” go hand in hand (like a pair of gloves for the soul) for the child of God. I did not understand then, as much as I do today, and I would be a spiritual dunderhead to say that I fully understand it today. We ought to be ready at every moment to learn more about God’s grace, through faith as He is always ready to teach us. Pro 15:23 – A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, and a word spoken in due season, how good it is!

Most all of the children of God, after a while of experiencing the grace of God feel a push from the world (devilish) to DO more for God (like helping God out!). We seem to fall into this thought that God needs our help, that we can work things out in human capacity and help God! The challenge found in Luke 6:46-49 in human terms is that we are not doing enough, but on spiritual terms, the passage is very fulfilling. Mat 16:18 – And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock, I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it; KJV. The same ROCK in the passage of Matthew 16:18 is the same ROCK of Luke 6:48 and Mat 7:25.

The church of Jesus Christ is built on that ROCK of FAITH, the faith of all the children of God, past, present, and future. If the church today is failing, AND IT IS! It is because we have set our eyes on performance and have become blind to FAITH. Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith, it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (Grace comes to every believer walks by faith).
