SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:  Luke 6:37-38 – The Eternal Plan of God
“Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES: Jesus, the Christ of God/Messiah
We are looking at the very words of Jesus regarding relationships with the people who live in our circle of influence. I wish to back up for the moment and note His Words in verse 27, to those following Him. “But I tell you who hear Me” Now, all who were following Jesus could hear Him, but not all heeded the messages. These folks did not have the help of the Holy Spirit as He had not been given and the church had not yet begun. Is this an excuse, I think not, today we have the Spirit of God abiding in us, we read and hear through scripture the promises and challenges of living uprightly before God and man and can you guess – WE FAIL!

A couple of the large areas of failure in the human life of SIN is found in our scripture verses today. Judging and giving! I suppose that if we could cut this entire discourse of Jesus out of the Bible, we would have to throw the entire New Testament out as well! Our human life before Almighty God is a failure. Do not get me wrong, our human life is just the opposite of our Spiritual life in Christ. This truth sets up a mandate that there is no room for fence walking. We are either walking in the “slave market of sin” (Romans 6::15-23) or we are walking as bondservants of God’s righteousness.

Judging is a terrible sin, why is that? Simply because that when you judge someone, you judge them according to what you know about yourself. If you judge someone for being a hypocrite, you are first the hypocrite. First, you have to KNOW what a hypocrite IS, this is not an academic exercise as anyone can know the definition of the word, but only those who practice hypocrisy can accuse another of being one too.

What about giving? Being able to GIVE is a gift given to you by God. The command of a tithe in the Old Testament, but a manifest of the grace of God in the New Testament (2 Corinthians 9). All that we have in this life has come from the Hand of Almighty God. To cling to what we have is stingy and human, to give up what God has given you, is to give God the opportunity to give it back to you in abundance. I can only say; I KNOW by experience, this is true.
