A Devotional – SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES (58) 

SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:  Proverbs 9:7-12 Fear of the LORD, the Wisdom of God
“He who corrects a scoffer gets shame for himself, and he who rebukes a wicked man only harms himself. Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you. Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.”  

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For by me your days will be multiplied, and years of life will be added to you. If you are wise, you are wise for yourself, and if you scoff, you will bear it alone.”

SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES: Divine Wisdom; the Gospel of God is GOOD NEWS.

And again; yesterday we looked at five more of the characteristics of GOD; One; His SOVEREIGNTY, being over Creation, including our personal SOUL. Two and Three: His Absolute RIGHTEOUSNESS and JUSTICE which He teaches and shares with us through His Son, who is the Living Word. His Infinite LOVE, which He willingly blesses us with by the indwelling Holy Spirit and His ETERNAL LIFE provided to us through the sealing ministry of the Holy Spirit. Remembering that the FEAR OF THE LORD is the beginning of WISDOM.

Continuing now with the Character of God:

God is OMNIPRESENT = There is not a place known to mankind where God is not present. I have been in some very deep parts of the oceans and seas on this earth of ours and I knew and felt the presence of God at all times. Even in times of uncertainty of physical and medical dangers, God is a very present help in times of need, Psalm 46:1; Psalm 124.

God is OMNIPOTENT = There is nothing to hard or impossible for God; all of Psalm 139

God is OMNISCIENT = There is nothing that God lacks in Wisdom; In Wisdom He is Perfect in understanding all things; all of Psalm 139; Isaiah 46:10; Jeremiah 33:3

God is VERACITY = God cannot lie, when He speaks, He speaks absolute TRUTH – Hebrews 6:18; Psalm 119:160 and John 14:6.

Lastly; God is IMMUTABLE = God is the same as He is, from Eternity to Eternity. In other words, God is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8 James 1:17 an Malachi 3:6.

Out of these five characteristics of God; He teaches us that the TRUTH is in His Christ/Messiah; John 14:1-6, to be His disciple we must be willing to KNOW the Truth, JESUS is the TRUTH, John 8:32 and much more. So, five out of these ten characteristics God is willing to share with us to know the Truth that sets us free (Proverbs 9:10-11) abide in these, which is our Spiritual heritage; see Roman 8:1-39.
