Devotional – Various Scripture – Do you know God!

Psalm 46:10 - Be still; and KNOW that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! Psalm 46, like many of the songs of the sons of Korah teach us to KNOW, to LOVE and to WORSHIP the one True God. God is not just the God of the Bible, He is the ONLY EXALTED ONE True God. Every sin known and committed by man is forgiven by God through the VICARIOUS sacrifice of God the Son for you, me and the entire world. The ONE sin that is not forgiven and never will be is to reject the Holy Spirit’s conviction to the world “And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: “of sin, because they do not believe in Me; “of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; “of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged; see John 16: 7-11.



Comment: Do you believe that God is GOD? You may come back with another question! What or who is God, or you may have a religious view of God. I am sure there are other questions or views, but if God is True (and He is) there can be only one true answer. 

Over the course of our past six thousand years on the earth, men and women have raised up numerous gods to worship. These religions and cults have self-made gods to fit or fill every specific need or fact in the universe. For a brief example; Greeks, at one time, had 360 gods, almost one for each day of the year.

The Greeks chose gods or goddesses, while the Muslims around AD 70 could not come up with a name for their god; so, they stole one of the gods from the Greeks, the name of this god is Allah. The god of the Moon.

The religions of the world have a narrow concept of what or who a god should be, but the Holy Bible which describes the fullness of The One True God; explains or defines Him as YAHWEH or JEHOVAH. Now watch this! We English speaking people translate these two words (Yahweh or Jehovah) as LORD. Have you used the name, LORD today? “LORD! No doubt! you have.”

LORD, or YAHWEH and JEHOVAH are the literal meaning of (I am, who I am) God in the Holy Bible is the SELF-EXISTING ONE, and He eagerly identifies Himself to you every time you say, LORD! It is God’s personal Name, “I AM WHO I AM” is the Creator and Sustainer of the entire universe. He needs nothing and no one else to help Him as He is THE Self-existing GOD.

Yahweh, Jehovah (The self-existing One) came to earth as The Son of God to redeem those who will believe in Him. Isaiah 9:6 and Micah 5:2. He came also to convict and forgive the sin of the world, including YOUR SIN AND MINE as we read at the beginning of this devotional. 

Not only is God the Creator and Sustainer of the world, He is also the Redeemer of those who have faith in Him. Let me pull this together somewhat.

John 8:33-59 and Exodus 3:14 identify for us that the God of the Old Testament is the God of the New Testament too! Therefore. the Creator of the world who is the sustainer (the One who keeps things going) is also the redeemer Jesus Christ, the Messiah. (The One who died and rose again). We all have sinned and fallen short of this Truth. John 3:13-21. The Light of the knowledge of God in revealed to you and me in the Birth, the Death, the Burial and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Acts 4:12). If you do not know this truth, you do NOT know God. Your destiny is recorded in many places of the Bible, but please read, Matthew 7:21-27. If you do not know God, how then could God know you?
