A weekly Devotional - Walking - The Will of God

The Devotional

Psalm 32:1-5 - I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah

David's words of hopeful, he has confident resolve that reconciliation will happen in his heart. He has gone beyond the limit of God's protective Will and he seeks forgiveness; Transgression is going beyond the limit of obedience to the Will of God. The result has placed a storm of discipline from God over David. His acknowledgement and contrite confession to the LORD removes the transgression and his iniquity and sins are forgiven.

Commentary: As children of God by faith in Christ we should be aware that to have fellowship with our Father God we must walk in the newness of life (The Holy Spirit is a major fact of that newness; John 14:15-18). Sin cripples our relationship with the Father by grieving the Holy Spirit who indwells us. Lying as well as anger, as the apostle Paul reveals in Ephesians are the primary deeds of the flesh that destroy fellowship with with God the Father and our brothers and sisters in Christ - Ephesians 4:25-32.

Being in Christ we are to walk in the Light, God is Light, in Him there is NO darkness and if we say that we have fellowship with Him, but are living a lie, or having an angry countenance over  someone or some circumstance, then we are not practicing the truth, we are walking in darkness. We are exhorted to walk in Love, Light and Wisdom, Ephesians 5:1-21. Notice too, that our daily walk reveals itself in the home and in our church. Ephesians 5:22-33.

We are children of God; look intently therefore, at the manner of love that the Father has placed on us, that we should be called His Child, 1 John 2:28-3:1-3. The world does not know this love and is 'helpless' to abide in the Light of the Father. The world abides in 'love for the world' which is darkness and this darkness is the lie and anger of the devil (John 8:44). We ought daily, to meditate on the grace of God that has appeared to all, teaching us to deny ungodliness. Titus 2:11-15.
