The Devotional – Search the Scriptures – 775

Today’s Kick Start! (NKJV) 1 Peter 5 8-9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

Personal Obedience—Walk in the Spirit and you will not carry out the deeds of the flesh.

Acts 13 Now in the church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away.

JESUS CHRIST: He IS the same Yesterday, He IS the same Today, He IS God Forever!

It is very difficult these days for current church leaders to fully rely on God the Holy Spirit, Most of these men who are serious and dedicated to the Lord. Unwittingly they lean of a system called ‘hermeneutics’, plural in form but singular or plural in construction: the study of the principles of interpretation (as of the Bible). Another form of teaching is ‘systematic theology’ a systematic study of various books of the bible which far better.

Much to do about this subject regarding ones ability to rely solely on God, not only on biblical truth but also to walk humbly with the Lord, personally. Micah 6 8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God. And  Galatians 5 16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

[The bible identifies church leaders as ‘prophets and teachers’ or ‘pastors and teachers’ They also acknowledge {John 14 15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. Also John 16 13However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.}]

Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever—Hebrews 13:8 While He remains the same and all theologians agree the theology of Christendom has move away—some of us need to seriously understand and it applicable make some necessary changes.

Revelation 314 “And to the angel of the church [j]of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: 15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— 18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. 21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ ”

Churches today are mostly ‘lukewarm’! More on Acts 13:1-2 tomorrow if God wills.
