Today’s Kick Start! – (NKJV) Ephesians 5:19-20 Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Personal Obedience—Walk in the Spirit and you will not carry out the deeds of the flesh.
Acts 11 25 Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul. 26 And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. 27 And in these days prophets came from Jerusalem to Antioch. 28 Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar. 29 Then the disciples, each according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brethren dwelling in Judea. 30 This they also did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
JESUS CHRIST: He IS the same Yesterday, He IS the same Today, He IS God Forever!
In Galatians 1 11-21 The apostle Paul gives testimony of his confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ in that he did not receive the gospel from man, but from Jesus Himself. We looked at this earlier in Acts 9. At that time it was AD 34, one year after the Lord was crucified by the Will of God for the sin of the world. Now it is AD 41 and Barnabus is moved by the Lord to go and find Saul who is also called Paul, we will see this in Acts 13.
Paul has spent the last seven years quietly studying the scriptures, now he is being summons by God through Barnabas to begin his public ministry. Barnabus finds the apostle in his home town of Tarsus and together they travel back to Antioch where Barnabus had been sent by the Jerusalem council (church) to build up the Antioch believers (church planting). In every aspect these early events are the first steps of sending out missionaries.
This experience of our mission of life in Christ is current today, it will never grow old, dull, or irrelevant. Men and women are called by God to bring the Good News to all parts of the world. The miracle of being saved by the grace of God is, and will be the greatest event provided by God for the world. John 20:21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” The Messiah/Christ now sends us from our home town to preach the gospel to the world, we are Christians therefore, we have this authority from Him to go in His Name and proclaim the Good News.
