Today’s Kick Start! – (NKJV) Psalm 27 14 Wait on the Lord and be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart, wait I say! Wait on the LORD.
Personal Obedience—Walk in the Spirit and you will not carry out the deeds of the flesh.
Acts 10 24 And the following day they entered Caesarea. Now Cornelius was waiting for them, and had called together his relatives and close friends. 25 As Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him. 26 But Peter lifted him up, saying, “Stand up; I myself am also a man.” 27 And as he talked with him, he went in and found many who had come together. 28 Then he said to them, “You know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation. But God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean. 29 Therefore I came without objection as soon as I was sent for. I ask, then, for what reason have you sent for me?” 30 So Cornelius said, “Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing, 31 and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your alms are remembered in the sight of God. 32 Send therefore to Joppa and call Simon here, whose surname is Peter. He is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea. When he comes, he will speak to you.’ 33 So I sent to you immediately, and you have done well to come. Now therefore, we are all present before God, to hear all the things commanded you by God.”
JESUS CHRIST: He IS the same Yesterday, He IS the same Today, He IS God Forever!
None of the human events in the Holy Word of God are stories, folklore, or fabricated tales of half-truths. There is nothing vain or mundane with Truth. (Psalm 119 160) As we said earlier, God is not mocked, whatever is sown publicly from the heart of man will reap a whirlwind of sorrow in one’s eternal destiny. God has but one mission and that is to reconcile with all people groups of the world. Reconciliation simply means to restore a friendly and personal relationship with someone who is estranged or alienated. The fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden was of epidemic proportion. An epidemic which is far more severe than any covid. Sin results of the fall in Eden still destroy more people than covid ever did or will.
Messiah Jesus called Peter by a vision, (much more personal than any electronic communication of today). Go to a gentile nation and to a specific gentile person. Peter is obedient to the call. His faith is stronger than his fear. Like most men when they encounter decisions that go against their their human will suffer in taking the first step, Peter explains this to Cornelius that he was apprehensive about doing the will of God with a gentile, within a nation of gentiles.
The meeting between Cornelius and Peter is so eagerly anticipated by Cornelius. His hearts desire is to know God personally, to be reconciled to His Creator. He is not selfish, he calls all of his relatives, and his friends. Have you had such a burning interest for God as this man? Or were you like me; fighting and kicking as some of the friends of Jesus dragged me to Cross. There were no doubt men or women in the group that Cornelius invited who were not sincere, but these folks were there and they heard the message of reconciliation with God, praise God as some receive the message of the Cross.
Peter proclaims the message of ‘Joy to the world’ not a ‘Christmas Carol’ but The Truth that all of the world has and is reconciled to God by the life, the ministry, the death, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is the work of God for all of mankind. The epidemic of SIN is permanently removed from the world—John 3 16 is the statement of CURE. As we shall see tomorrow, God and man working together to bring salvation to the lost.
