The Devotional – Search the Scriptures – 639

Today’s Kick Start! – (CJB) Psalm 19  4 Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world.

Studying with the Creator—Psalm 7 The law (Torah) of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; 9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they then gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward.

JESUS CHRIST: He IS the same Yesterday, He IS the same Today, He Forever, IS God!

(CJB) 2 Timothy 2:15 – Do all you can {In Christ} to present yourself to God as someone worthy of his approval, as a worker with no need to be ashamed, because he deals straightforwardly with the Word of the Truth.

 

The Word of Truth is straight forward, thus it should be received and studied in the same manner. There are six words found in Psalm 19 that are foundational in any study of God’s Word. These Words should be the priority of our heart, mind, and soul at all times. Yet, if I were to pick one to be priority number one it would be the word {fear}.

 

I have highlighted these six words in the Psalm, which are = Law, Testimony, Statutes, Commandment, Fear, and Judgments. To know and abide in these Words helps us daily to pray and meditate. Also, God reveals that this is far greater than gold, and sweeter than honey or the honeycomb. There is GREAT reward for anyone who searches out—God’s Talk.

 

The Testimony of God is not plural, like God’s Commandment, like the Law of these words in this Psalm are ‘singular’. Like when we read—In the beginning God ‘singular’, created the heavens ‘plural’ and the earth ‘singular’. {Genesis 1:1) This is the Testimony and Commandment of God. The Law of God which is the Word of God is NOT CHANGEABLE, which brings to focus Hebrews 13:8 (CJB) 8 Yeshua the Messiah is the same yesterday, today and forever.

 

As God permits we will be doing much more with this Psalm and Psalm 119 in the days ahead. In the meantime, I would encourage each of us to study both Psalms. Then we will understand the remaining words; Statutes, Judgments and Fear all of which have to do with the Spiritual health of every child of God.
