The Devotional – Search the Scriptures – 519

Today’s Kick -Start! Psalm 119 77 Let Your tender mercies come to me, that I may live; For Your law is my delight. 78 Let the proud be ashamed, For they treated me wrongfully with falsehood; But I will meditate on Your precepts. 79 Let those who fear You turn to me, Those who know Your testimonies. 80 Let my heart be blameless regarding Your statutes, That I may not be ashamed.

Colossians 2;16-19 (NKJV) Law or Grace (Part 2)

16 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ. 18 Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19 and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God.

Jesus Christ: He was the same Yesterday, He is the same Today, He will Forever Be God!

Since we have a perfect and great salvation through Christ, we do not need for any additional things of this world to be added to what we have. Spiritually, we are thoroughly equipped through the indwelling of God the Holy Spirit. As Paul explained in Ephesians 1:3 – Blessed be the God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ who has (past tense) blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies, In Christ.

Do not consider, that when others judge you or your fellowships because of what you eat or drink that they are spiritually concerned for you spiritual maturity. Do not think that they have your best interest in mind when they criticize your agape feasts, or special days of prayer and fasting. The church is the body of Christ and should be a earthly shadow of the heavenly things to come.

It is easy for a local church to get off track and lose its reward, read Revelation 2 and 3, where it is easy, even the casual reader to pick out ecclesiastical failures in these churches. The major concern for the apostle Paul is for you and I to know that what we do in our churches are to reflect the things to come when we are in eternity with the LORD.  2 Corinthians 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. AND Colossians 2:11 –  In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ.

We should not seek to improve God’s Plan with human tools that rot with time—read Matthew 6, especially verses 19-21. Why do some try to improve on God’s perfect redemptive plan? Because, If they do not KNOW the Plan provided too them through the gospel of the grace of God in Christ, then they have NO Christ and No Plan.
