Long-suffering

James 5:7-17 – Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door! 10 My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. 11 Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful. 12 But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your “Yes” be “Yes,” and your “No,” “No,” lest you fall into judgment.

Christ/Messiah is The Wisdom and knowledge of God

The speed of the information highway turns out to be a reckless avenue for many. Whether these ‘many’ have faith in God or not, we are willing to be destroyed by our current technology. Rapid conclusions without searching out the matter at hand is as dangerous as running a stop sign or traffic light. The blight is that we know the danger, but because of the pace of haste around us, and for the sake of appearing savvy, we barge through the information available without concern for the command to ‘love one another’. Sadly we sound like a brass band warming up for a concert; 1 Corinthians 13:1.

Also, we who have a personal faith in God our Father through the longsuffering of God for His Created souls, like Him, we are not willing that any should perish. And you know as I do, that if He was willing to wait for you, He is willing to wait for others who like us, do not deserve His Mercy and Grace. With the technological advances we have willingly taken away the simple life of faith in God and our future. Thus our upcoming generations are subject to the fast and false interpretations of humanistic wisdom apart from the Wisdom of our Creator. Instead of faith in our “All sufficient and All-knowing God,” we are being dumb down by empiricism, emotionalism, and rationalism.

Is it too late to be patient and wait, as Scripture challenges us, No! If it were too late, I would not be writing and warning of our worldly conditions of self-righteousness. While we are a people who have little to do with King Messiah today and are very much like the people of Israel during the days of Judges, who were independent and autonomous; that is self-governing who did what they thought was right in their own eyes. God remains long-suffering to all; we still have time to repent (that is to change our mind) about our ungodly and self-destructing direction.

Today God is mocked and the people (remnant) of God are ridiculed – but we who are His children ought not lose heart, as ‘one day’ with the LORD is like a thousand to Him, His promise to save and heal the nations is not slack, God is long-suffering toward all and He is willing to wait for all to change their mind and come to Him. Sadly while He waits for many who can’t wait, the world around us falls into deeper darkness and all of this darkness is the result of humans personally rejecting the love of God by not letting our ‘yes’ be yes, and our ‘no’ be no, since there is too much information on the highway to choose from our left or our right.
