Luke 14:1-6 – Now it happened, as He went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees to eat bread on the Sabbath, that they watched Him closely. And behold, there was a certain man before Him who had dropsy. And Jesus, answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath? But they kept silent. And He took him and healed him and let him go. Then He answered them, saying, “Which of you, having a donkey or an ox that has fallen into a pit, will not immediately pull him out on the Sabbath day?” And they could not answer Him regarding these things,

Jesus, the Christ of God/Messiah
All sin and religion is sin, is the result of “Coveting for something you do not have or coveting to protect something you do have.”! I ask that each of us think about this, that is; whether true or false. Coveting is “Worldly mindedness.” All of the kingdoms of the world are controlled by “Coveting”. Satan covets God’s position, He at this very present time and day is seeking to overthrow the Kingdom of God and place himself in God’s position. Satan is very powerful and very bold, notice Luke 4:5-8, Satan has been given power and authority over the kingdoms of this world. One day soon the Messiah will destroy Satan and reclaim Authority over ALL OF HIS CREATION, including the natural mind of mankind. So, what has this to do with this Sabbath meal at a Pharisee's home?

The Pharisees and rulers of the Jews covet their religion. It does not take a reader very long to learn the greed and power used to keep their religion in check. Law upon law, and rule upon rule, that is; “if it is not broke, let's fix it with a yoke or rule that no one can bare so that it becomes harder to break!” Instead of ‘line upon line and precept upon precept” (Isa 28) the religious crowd, (even today) rewrite the Word. With nothing to show for their labor, they end up with a silent response. Just as these Pharisees and lawyers when they chose to keep silent to the LORD’s comments. Silence does not excuse a fault, so the Messiah answers their silence! That is if someone is about to say something (have you ever been there?).  The LORD directs the tongue to further silence. That human needs require immediate action, including action on the Sabbath. That is if one does not have a problem rescuing an animal on the Sabbath, why would you neglect to help a friend, brother or neighbor who are far more important.

Well, I would like to say more, but this will have to wait for a better day as I am a bit under the weather and not feeling well. More tomorrow, if the LORD tarries.
