Luke 13:22-30 – And He went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem. Then one said to Him, “Lord, are there few who are saved?” And He said to them, “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able. “When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open for us,’ and He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know you, where you are from,’ “then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.’ “But He will say, ‘I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.’ “There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out. “They will come from the east and the west, from the north and the south, and sit down in the kingdom of God. “And indeed, there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last.”
Luke 13:31-33 – At that very moment, or on the same day some Pharisees came saying to Him “Get out and depart from here, for Herod wants to kill you.” And He said to them, “God and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected (same word as resurrected) Nevertheless I must journey today, tomorrow, the day following; for it cannot be that a prophet should perish outside of Jerusalem”.
Jesus, the Christ of God/Messiah
And He will say on that day; “depart from Me, ‘I do not know you’” Why? Why would God, who in the past created the heavens and the earth, and now in present time, loves His creation beyond our comprehension. Who in a more recent time past, lived a human life just as ours, who also, chose to die and rise again for our souls to live with Him in eternity (His Kingdom) look at the MAJORITY of the people of the world He created and say those words in red above and MEAN what HE said? There can be many answers like the “Free will of man verses the Sovereignty of God” or any other answer, that while humanly relevant to the natural mind, misses the mark and falls short of the Spiritual Glory of God. There cannot be but ONE answer. Faith in God working with the Holy Spirit to guide an unsaved child to a proper understanding of what it means to “Fear the LORD”

We touched on this before – [Rom 10:17 – So then faith is by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.] Faith in God comes from NO OTHER SOURCE than the Word of God. Now the Holy Spirit IS the writer and teacher of the Word of God, so why then should we need an outside source to muddy up the CLEAR message. Now, I am not against commentaries, devotionals or any other document that may assist in understanding a truth or principle regarding the doctrines of the Holy Bible. However, I am against the thought that many have that, [while they refuse to admit it], rely on these documents, devotionals, and commentaries to be equal to or supersede the HOLY SPIRIT. Sadly, it is all to commonplace in churches today to disregard John 16:5-15, especially verse 13. There is no greater Authority in the Word of God, even the Old Testament Prophets were instructed by the Holy Spirit. Has God changed? NO! And might I add that if a commentary, devotional or other written comment does not add up to one's own interpretation then it is tossed aside, who is ti that gives authority for that? Do we have a king Herod in our back pocket!

Authority, the Pharisees seek to impose upon the LORD a greater authority than their religion, Herod the king, the truth is that there is a greater Authority standing before them the KING Himself and there is no fear for Him in their heart. While they have their religion, they see it is not enough and they no doubt sent for Herod to scare the LORD away. By the way – “how is your religion doing?”
