Luke 14:15-24 – Now when one of those who sat at the table with Him heard these things, he said to Him, “Blessed is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God!” Then He said to him, “A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, “and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, ‘Come, for all things are now ready.’ “But they all with one accord began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. I ask you to have me excused.’ “And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you to have me excused.’ “Still another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.’ “So that servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the blind.’ “And the servant said, ‘Master, it is done as you commanded, and still there is room.’ “Then the master said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. ‘For I say to you that none of those men who were invited shall taste my supper.’”

Jesus, the Christ of God/Messiah
Of course, I am going to revisit this parable of the rejected invitation to the Great Supper sent out by God the Father to His chosen nation, Israel. Israel throughout its history has had problems following God, idolatry being the largest of hindrances caused Israel’s kings and their kingdoms to fall. The nation even split (The Northern and Southern Kingdom), the dividing of countries is not abnormal, and many nations split without dividing the land, much like the United States of America. We are split between conservative and socialistic views. (Another day!)

The Great Super, which I believe is the Marriage Supper of the Lamb will be right after the “first resurrection” notice how this parable starts. It starts with a statement by one of the guest dining with Jesus in the Pharisees home. In verse 15 of Luke 14, the guess makes this statement, “Blessed is he who shall eat bread (Lit. the best) in the kingdom of God. Revelation 19:9 the context is the Marriage Supper of the Lamb and verse nine, then John the apostle was told to write the following. “Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “these are the true sayings of God.”

God will fill His banquet hall and the marriage supper of the Lamb will happen soon. All who are in the first resurrection will be at this marriage supper. The saints (the children of God) will not only enjoy this banquet, but they will also reign with Christ for the one thousand years of Christ’s reign on earth; see Revelation 20:4-6. Sometimes we want to doubt the true sayings of God, I believe this is human nature and the demons who follow Satan that cause this doubt. How do we prevent this from developing in our heart?

As stated yesterday, “Faith alone in God alone” is the answer but let me expound on this a bit. We can totally miss the mark if “alone” means; all by one’s self. By oneself we cannot know anything of God, God is Incomprehensible to the keenest of minds. God is Unsearchable to even the best-learned scholar. Yet, God does Transcend to everyone who is born-again in His Infinite capacity of God the Holy Spirit, See John 16:13-15 to guide us into His Truth!
