A Devotional – SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES (74) 

SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:  Various Scripture – The Eternal Plan of God - Jesus
Isaiah 7:14 – “Therefore the LORD HIMSELF will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a SON, and shall call HIS NAME IMMANUEL”. Matthew 1:23 – “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a SON and they shall call HIS NAME IMMANUEL,” Luke 1:31 – “And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a SON and shall call HIS NAME JESUS.” Revelation 12:5 – “She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne.”

SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES: Jesus, the Christ of God/Messiah

Sometimes I feel we miss the point, not that I have the point, I most certainly do not, but I do seek to think or ponder on spiritual and biblical Truth. Sort of like Mary in Luke 2:19 - But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. Meditation is the most important aspect of my life in Christ, I hope it is for you as well!

What is in a name? We are told to pray in the Name of Jesus, we do this in rote fashion and not with much thought, do we not? In the scripture verses above I emphasized the Names given to the Son of God by the Prophets and the angel Gabriel. To bring our awareness to the important mission of the Babe in the cradle. I believe that Jesus is EVERYTHING that God’s Eternal Plan provides. And as a songwriter once wrote, “and so much more!” more than we allow our minds to ponder on. Why ponder on one or two aspects of being “In Christ!” when He has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness when we abide in Him.

2 Peter 1:2-3 – “Grace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue”
The wisdom of spiritual and biblical matters, we ought all to study to be approved (2 Timothy 2:15), but UNDERSTANDING comes from APPLIED KNOWLEDGE of the Holy One!
