A Devotional – SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES (73)

SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:  Luke 1:46-55 – The Eternal Plan of God - Jesus
And Mary said: "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name. And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation. He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He has put down the mighty from their thrones and exalted the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, And the rich He has sent away empty. He has helped His servant Israel, in remembrance of His mercy, As He spoke to our fathers, To Abraham and to his seed forever."

SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES: Jesus, the Christ of God/Messiah
“Hail Mary, full of grace the Lord is with thee!” These ten words should be sufficient to get my point across, try finding these in the Holy Bible, you will not find these words, nor will you find the remainder of the Catholic prayer, titled the “Hail Mary!”. However, you might say, but the Catholics do have the “Our Father!”. Whoops! Don’t go too far with that thought, taken from the Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible is the following translation of Matthew 6:9-13.

“Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our supersubstantial bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. Amen.” The Kingdom, the Power and the Glory of God are left out! Of what good is any prayer if this mindset is missing when we pray, for it is in this manner that Jesus taught His disciples.

Matthew 6:9-13 – Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Mary, the mother of Jesus is not the mother of God, I would like to be more dogmatic in this statement, but I wish to stay in fellowship with God the Holy Spirit! Never at any time in scripture, including the Catholic Bible do you find that Mary exalts herself as the mother of God! Mary’s words found in Luke 1:46-55 do not in any way magnify herself, she magnifies the Creator who is God her Savior. It is because of God that the generations of man call her blessed. She is the mother of the “Son of Man”, God is the Father of the “Son of God” it is sufficient to believe Truth by Faith. It is insufficient, through human religion to add or subtract words from the Holy Word of God, see Revelation 22:18-21. Amen.
