The Devotional - Various Scripture - Again I say, know the LORD
The Devotional
Jeremiah 31:34 – “No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every
man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,' for they all shall know Me, from the
least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their
iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
COMMENT: Yes,
you are right! I did say last week that the series of “knowing God” would end
with that last devotional. But, what was I thinking? We could never know enough
about our awesome and wonderful God, this side of eternity. Notice if you will,
what we find when we continue to “search the scriptures". (This will be a future title of the devotional. "Search the Scriptures")
1 Timothy 2:1-6 – Therefore I exhort
first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions and the giving of
thanks be made for all men. For kings and all who are in authority, that we may
lead a quiet and peaceful life, in all godliness and reverence. For this is
good and acceptable to God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and come
to the knowledge of the truth. If we do not strive to know our God as He
desires, how will we be able to pray in the manner expected of us?
So,
until the time that the Prophet Jeremiah is speaking of we must continue a
daily intake of the Holy Word of God, getting to know God the way He has commanded. What way is that you may ask? 1
Timothy 2:5-6 – For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men,
The Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due
time. No one can know God or share the knowledge of God without first “knowing
and accepting the Christ/Messiah” as He is “God our Savior”!
The
things we write and say today, pale in the Light of the gospel of Jesus Christ
and I believe that the apostle John nails this thought with these words in his gospel.
John 21:25 – And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they
were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain
the books that would be written. Amen! Now let me ask you!
The
Holy Bible is an “Autobiography” written by God through His prophets and
apostles. The writer of Hebrews also adds; God in the last days has spoken to
us through His Son, (Christ/Messiah) who He has appointed heir of all things,
through whom also He made the worlds. So why would anyone write about
themselves? So that those who read, will get to KNOW them.
