A Devotional – SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES (36)

A Devotional – SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES (36)  COMMENT: As a typical day goes by; people are concerned about their financial needs, work, children, wife or husband (if they have a family), also other activities. These activities can be, soccer or ball practices for the children and evening entertainment for the adults. What I am driving at is that it is all to easy to fill our day with the ‘way of life’ that is normal for our little spot on this earth. Where or when do we allow or invite The Creator God a spot in our day? If we are children of God; that is (born into His family through the Blood of Christ’s sacrifice for our soul, see 1 st Peter 1:13-21), and if it is a church day or night, it at this time we find a spot to invite The Creator into our day. This is roughly three to five hours a week.   This is (5 HOURS OUT OF 168), consider the void in our soul if this is the case. A Devotional – SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES (35)  COMMENT: The Epistle to Philippi is a personal expression of thanksgiving by the apostle Paul to these saints for their help and support in meeting his needs. Chapter 4 and verse 16 Paul states, “For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities.” It is my plan to go through the epistle and highlight Paul’s spiritual mindset on praying; that would be to ‘pray without ceasing’ something that most of us fail at. SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES: Prayer As common with most of Paul’s letters he begins with, “Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the LORD Jesus Christ.” I do not believe that it is a stretch of the imagination to say that this is a prayerful expression to those he is writing to. In other words, Paul is communicating a prayerful countenance in his opening words and he continues through verse eleven. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God upon ev...

A Devotional – SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES (34) COMMENT: Today is midweek, Wednesday! Does your church provide a service this evening? Many do, yet there seems to be a moving away from the mid-week service we once traditionally pursued. I see no reason to be critical regarding any fellowship who does not have a Wednesday service as many churches have other meetings, services and activities on other days that go further to meet the needs in a spiritually thriving church family. Traditions can often fall short of the mark that God has intended for His children. When the early church was forming, men and women were excited to come together daily, see Acts 2:40-47. So as the early church formed, but not without persecution, men and women came together to hear the teaching a preaching of the apostles regarding, “Jesus as the Christ” (Messiah), see Acts 5:33-6:7. Jesus tests the churches daily and He will reward or discipline each church as needed. SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES: Prayer Sh...
